— About us

We are petuks.
We are not sorry.

Petuk (পেটুক) is a Bengali word for someone who likes a little too much food. There is no English equivalent that doesn't sound like an insult. In our culture, it's a compliment. We claim it.

Rasif and Ridima

— The story

How a long-distance argument about kosha mangsho became a blog.

We are Petuk Couple — Rasif and Ridima, two Bengalis who were raised on the smell of mustard oil and the sound of pressure cookers. We met in 2018 and discovered almost immediately that our real common language was food.

Petuk Couple started in 2020 as a private kitchen log. Then it became an Instagram. Then a YouTube channel. And now it is this — a slower, growing notebook for the recipes we love, the places we visit, and the small things in between.

We are based in Dhanmondi, Dhaka. We travel as often as we afford to, mostly across South and Southeast Asia. We are not professional cooks. We don't claim authority. We are just trying to write things down, before we forget.
